Working at DSRS
Data Science Research Services gives students the opportunity to work on meaningful projects that support researchers at Gies. We welcome students from all backgrounds — graduate and undergraduate — and deeply value the diversity and inclusion that define our team. Whether you are building technical skills, exploring research support, or looking to contribute to real-world projects, DSRS offers a collaborative environment where students can learn, grow, and make an impact.
Who Can Join DSRS?
Undergraduate & Graduate Students

Opportunity Areas
DSRS is organized into four core verticals — DataHub, Infrastructure, Services, and Engagement — each representing a distinct area of expertise within the team.
DataHub
Licensed datasets, custom scraping, and hands-on research support — everything it takes to get researchers at Gies the data they need.
Infrastructure
Built on OpenStack and orchestrated with Kubernetes, our cluster manages compute and memory alongside storage and GPU resources to support scalable computing environments for diverse research needs.
Services
Advisory support, hands-on collaboration, or full end-to-end execution — expertise across the full research stack.
Engagement
Storytelling, outreach, and community-building that connect DSRS's work with students, researchers, and the broader Gies community.
